Sport Horses and Ponies
Affordable and Athletic Hunter Jumper Horses and Ponies
Shadow Hollow Farm specializes in breeding sport ponies for the hunter jumper disciplines by crossing warmblood lines that are proven in the jumping disciplines with welsh and connemara bloodlines to produce smaller mounts for young riders. Bloodlines are chosen to produce excellent dispositions and superior jumping capabilities. We sell both proven ponies that will take care of their riders and win at rated shows as well as less expensive "project ponies" that are affordable for those individuals that want to bring along their own quality pony. We proudly partner with Little Hunter Farm in Northern Chicago in order to give our ponies experience with young riders on competitive show circuits.
SHF also helps with marketing local green sport horses - offering video and marketing services to help reach appropriate buyers. Many of these talented horses and ponies are posted on our website.
Performance Ponies
Our performance ponies have experience under saddle. They range from either a solid six months of schooling to schoolmasters that have taken many children to shows including medal and hunter finals. A few ponies are available for lease with approved trainers. We have ponies that are competitive in medals and finals.
Pony of the Month
Derby is a 2014 Welsh/WB cross, 14.1 Gelding. Currently offered in the four figure range - an affordable pony for a rider on a budget.
Project of the Month
Now available - a nice assortment of draft cross weanlings and one yearling located locally in Hardinsburg Indiana. Belgian and Dutch crosses available at very affordable prices.
These colts are spectacular movers with amateur friendly attitudes.
Project Ponies
Project ponies are either not started or have less than 60 days under saddle. They are recommended for those that want a green pony that would be suitable for local showing. They are sold to approved homes only, and potential buyers must provide proof of adequate knowledge and understanding of training needs.
