Shadow Hollow Farm is owned by Suzanne Hopf, and sits on 16 rolling acres of pasture and wooded farmland in New Salisbury, Indiana. Suzanne has been riding hunters and jumpers since she was 8 years old, which places her years of experience in this field at 50+ years. She rode professionally in her 20's at the Four WInds in Fort Collins, CO riding pre-green through 4' working hunters for clients and schooling investment horses. Suzanne specialized in junior equitation riders, qualifying young riders for the AHSA and USET medal finals in the 1980's. In 1996 she ended her professional riding career but maintained several horses on her property and helped a few friends train their horses.
In 2003 Suzanne decided to start breeding Sport Ponies. While SHF raises the occasional full sized Warmblood (sometimes listed on this website), the majority of the stock on the farm are sport pones. Most of these are are kept for long term training and future show pony sales
Shadow Hollow Farm strives to represent their ponies fully - knowing their breeding, their upbringing and every pony's specific character and idiosyncrasies as they have all been handled since birth by Suzanne. We are happy to give referrals if one of our ponies does not fit your needs and prefer to not make a sale if there is any question about the fit of a pony for a specific rider, their program and/or the family budget and needs. The farm philosophy is based on doing our very best for every pony that we raise, and this includes intelligently placing ponies with the right program.
During her "non-horse" life Suzanne is a practicing attorney who represents children in Kentucky and she also teaches at the University of Louisville as adjunct faculty.
